I didn't have the patience to read it all but the active steering assistance package on mine makes journeys very pleasant and I'd be loathe to not have it now.
Like lots of things MB does it's a subtle thing you don't really notice until it's gone!

I came across this on another forum.
It relates disabling self steering functions on all vehicles fitted with them.
Not great, EU laws at it again.

Before going all anti-EU you might want to check the source of the document.
It's not an EU document it's a UNECE document and whilst the ECE is Economic Commission for Europe it's a UN governed body hence the UN at the start of the name.

Me neither Stuart- the pilot assist stuff is pretty useful these days, especially long tedious trips like up and down the A9 which is festooned with speed cameras for 'fun'

Dreaming of a CL55k - one day maybe....
I always liked cruise control until I had Adaptive cruise - now I wouldn't be without it.... It works, sometimes it gives some weird responses, but overall takes all the stress out of motorway cruising

As has been pointed out, not EU. Also it doesn't require self steering functions to be disabled, only sets approval requirements for such systems which basically require them to be supported by a safety case. It is interesting, to put it mildly, that MB are advancing it as a reason to remove functions in new build cars that many of us are driving around with.
