Hi all

I am new here - so please be kind!

I have had a look through the threads and cannot see a recent one on this (though we are often asked on the Lexus board I am a member of!)

I am about to order a brand new CLK for the current Mrs Cracker and wonderd what, if anything, I should expect to be able to knock the dealer down by? Are there discounts of 4/5/6% available? Or is it a few hundred quids worth of toys and be happy with it?

Also, if we go for COMMAND, do we get an iPod connection as standard in the glove box?

Thanks in advance

Simon

Hi Simon,

Welcome to MBOA forums (gently)

If you buy a mag like auto express, they give an 'Expect To Pay' price for most cars.

The mag. I have in front of me is a couple of months old, and it seems it may be difficult to get a discount on the 320V6 models

They quote about £750 discount on the 200 and 240 (coupe only) as an expect to pay price.

As that is a few months ago, I would be trying to get a little more off (3% - 4%)

ask here what kind of discounts you might expect

regardless you get an AUX-IN socket in the glovebox that lets you play thru the head unit. If you want an IPOD integration kit that shows you song namesand the ipod menu in the dash with steering wheel control you need the IPOD integration kit, £225 + VAT inc fitting.

Thanks for the replies - I should have said it is a CLK 280 Cabriolet in case that makes a difference...

And it is a "National Stock" model as there is not enough time until anniversary to have one made..

Just in case these make a difference.

Blassberg - what is Ciara's role at MB?

Thanks

Simon

Ciara works in sales for MB Retail customers. Consider her part of a virtual official dealership. I have ordered two cars through her and found her service excellent.

wrt to maintenance @ dealerships if you go that route, my deals were both lease with maintenance. 1 thru leaseplan which uses official dealers only and one thru Sainsbury's bank and I don't know where they will send me for maintenance (don't care too much as they take the risk on the residual value and they offered an exceptionally high residual value - good if you are handing the car back at the end of the term as it reduces monthly payments)

Any 320 V6 models will be old stock as this model was discontinued some months ago - I would expect to be able to get a discount on these (6% possibly).

Demand for CLK Cabriolets is not as strong as it was a year ago and as Simon is looking for a model from stock rather than a factory order then a discount might be possible but may be only a few percent.
