does anyone know if it is possible to dismantle the basic type key to remove the key blade? i'va had to replace the ignition barrel and so now have one key for all the doors, and one for the ignition, however, i still need to put the original key up to the transponder sensor in order to start the engine. just thought it would be cheaper and easier to swap the key blades as you don't need the transponder to open the doors???? and frankly it's a pain in the arse.
cheers.
Any info will be more than gratefully recieved

If it is a flip out key type fob the key blade is secured by a small roll pin which will need to be knocked out to replace the key blade.

unfortunately not that posh, just the basic type key with the blade fixed in the black plastic fob. it looks as though you should be able to just cut the blade out and slide the new one back in the same whole. but i don't want to bugger it up by doing so.
