Mods - posted in tech / trim but I dont think Im going to find the answer there, please permit this mild tech query

06, CLS55 but they are in other MB`s, they are the type to support you in bends etc - I have these wizzo seats and am happy except the passenger side has a clicking relay every 10 secs or so with everything turned off except the ignition (dynamic off / all switches off on the seat) the drivers seat does not do this and I have been told that the control for air top up is in the passenger seat and they all do this sir!! - well I am asking the forum do they all do it ?

I doubt they do but if anyone can help please ? its near the top of the passenger seat back rest and is clearly audible even when driving (with comand off) AAARGGG drives me nuts as I perceive its louder than it is and its like Chinese water torture

Cheers

I've driven a few of these (not many) but I don't recall any noises. This sounds more like an air leak making the PSE (vacuum) pump work overtime causing it to "trip" out. Does the dynamic seat definately work on the NSF seat? What about lumber??

I gave this some thought the other day, the simple answer is NO the seat should not click as the two seats are identical.

If it is a leak a simple test would be to leave the engine running and open the boot to listen to the pump,if the pump strarts the same time as the click, then yes something is leaking, there is only the one pipe that feeds both seats.

Is the click comming from the rear of the backrest, as thet is where the valve block is fitted

STAR is not very good at finding seat problems, as I found out and fixed my own

Television - Thanks for that - yes coming from back of passenger backrest every 10 secs or so (not always exactly 10 secs) - seat works ok (both do) BUT drivers seat lumbar inflates a bit at 40mph or so - ?? - this is not mentioned anywhere in any manual

Cheers

This has to be a leak, my seats are the same as yours but I dont have the active bit, My photos went down with my last computer.

Any way the valve block is behind the panel on the rear of the seat, this valve block has 7 valves that click with each function of the seat, you will hear the same click when you adjust various parts of the seat, once adjusted there is no more noise, if the seat is leaking then it will inflate to the memory position then do it again when the pressure drops through the leak.

It is a simple job to remove the leather from the backrest and the seat bladders can be changed. The valve that is making the noise would indicate the part that is leaking, you only have to follow the pipe to where it is connected to the seat, you have the lower back, mid back, top and side boulsters. the massage function does not apply here
