I have recently had the opposite end of the spectrum. i brought my R129 from a company called "Burcham Car Sourcing" near salisbury. Ross burcham prides hiimself on the customer service, finding good cars at a reasonable price. My car wasnt perfect, but he was honest, pointed out all the bad points, and after buying the car....i felt good. not only because i found the car i wanted but the buying experience wasnt tainted by dodgy dealers. I would recomend this company to anyone, because they are honest....nothing flash....just honest....and i think that counts for a lot.

Just on the grounds that with MOT's they are all now logged automatically with the mileage.

the mileage is logged but there is no database for any commercial use and if a car is clocked it does not show up at next mot.
Only a private user can access the vosa site and look at the previous mot,s providing he has the V5c and is the legal owner.
Hpi checks do not have access to this info but rely on the national mileage registar (is that what its called? i cant remember). It seems the mileage info only gets put on this database if the car is subject to finance or similar.
A car that changes hands privately for all its life will not be recorded.
As i found out, the police are not interested in mileage fraud, even if you hand them the evidence on a plate so its up to consumer direct to "maybe" pursue it.

This ad (found quite at random) seemingly ticks every dodgy box going, and is an example of someone really not giving their car every chance to sell - at least to me anyway, it would put me right off in a second, regardless of what the actual vehicle for sale was.
