Has anyone had a problem with SLK/C-class seats (1996-)? My driver side has come loose from bracket, oringinally was to be replaced under extended warranty, but now (after 6weeks without hearing from MB and having to chase) I've been told that a new seat frame is required which I will have to pay (an awful lot of cash) for.

Does this seem right? I'm tending to think the seat isn't safe as it is - it feels loose and I'm certain it could move in an accident? - surely this is a manufacturer issue?

SLK Seat Frame

I have had numerous problems with SLK seat. Had to have two new back frames as side of back broken twice when departing vehicle. Do not think too much of the quality of these seats especially when trying to exit car in a narrow parking space which is where the seat broke twice due to pressure exerted on the side.

Seat frames are a known problem. Kick up a fuss to MB customer care. If you get no joy go to trading standards.

really this should be addressed as a safety issue and a recall notice issued.
