My W210 is 17yrs old now and I expect problems rustwise in the chassis and sill areas,I had a small area welded at the front nearside a year ago!.At the time the welder guy told me not to use the jacking point there, touch wood the car has passed its MOT every year up to now!.I have the chance and cash to buy my son in laws 3 year old 220 cdi estate eclass but I love my motor so much I can,t let it go!.So I plan to sort out any problems underneath, the question is where does the wiring run in this area so I can inform the welder to avoid expensive problems when he does the work!.Its got to the stage cashwise where my heart is ruling my head but the car drives so well

Whilst I had a nearside front jacking point properly repaired, my task was holding protective material over the carpet and wiring loom.
Not sure about the offside, re. wires, but there'll be the yellow pneumatic pipes to watch as well.
Take the sill covers and rear bumper off, to assess the task ahead of you..

I think, but do not quote me, that there are no looms inside the sills of 210s. I'm sure there's a video somewhere of a 202 sill being replaced...same era, same technique.

The welder will have to cut out the bad metal...do this carefully to have a peek inside before doing more extensive stuff.
