Car: S212 - E220 Bluetech coming soon
Hi All,
Good day,
Does any one know what route my new E class built this week will take to get to the UK?

I have googled but surprisingly can't find much info.

I understand the car will be built in Sindelfingen

But how does it get to the UK?

Does any one know what ports Mercedes use ?

I understand in the UK at least they use, ECM (vehicle delivery service), to do the transportation.

I saw on some other manufactures discussion forums they can track the transport ships using the VIN's in some cases.

How reliable are Mercedes Shipping predictions?
apparently will be in the UK on the 6th of August and with the dealer on the 12th.

Does that sound right?

I am wondering if there is chance it will turn up early :) perhaps unlikely but I can hope!

Thanks in advance, have a great day
p

As an ex ECM Mercedes delivery transporter driver I would expect its port of entry will be Purfleet in Essex. After entry into the country the delivery company has 3 days to deliver the vehicle to the dealership. Hope that helps.

My CLS was built in Sindelfingen, and was on a Zeebrugge to Killingholme ship last December. Worked out nicely, as the supplying dealer was in that neck of the woods, so perhaps that influences which ship a given car ends up on, to a small degree?

Midland and northern dealers cars tend to come in at Killingholme. Southern cars usually come in at Purfleet. Cars for Scotland used to come in at Rosyth, but I believe they are now delivered from Killingholme.

Hi All,

Thanks for the replies very interesting.

Sadly mine was not on the trucks I saw!

Mine was due in the UK today, 6th and delivery to the dealer on the 12th.
On the 6th, now all the status says is exited the factory and no explanation.
Dealer now says it will arrive on the 17th. So if anything the transit time is getting shorter!

Before it was built 31st July, Uk, 6th, dealer 12th.

I guess a little delay is normal but will keep a close eye on it!

Is anyone else experiencing any delays?

Cheers
p
