H,
Can anybody help.
My n/s/f door lock has broken, i have managed to undo the lock mechanism itself but cant seem to get it passed the window reg.
Am i missing something, or do i have to release the window reg?

Any help much appreciated.
Thanks.
Paul.

sorry

Hi,
sorry its a 97 e300 td.
Since my last post i've managed to get the lock assembly out.
seems like the return spring has come adrift, its intact i just cant see where the other end attaches to, theres a small white plastic cylinder thing floating around in the same area as well.
does it sound terminal?
cheers.
Paul.

Take a look at where the spring is fixed on and maybe you can see a mark on the hooked on part of the spring and where it was pulling from, this could indicate the direction of where it came from

It should not be too hard to work out, if the last coil on the spring is intact, then a pin or some thing has broken away. the white plastic thing may have come off the same point, or did the spring go over this part
