Door release handle

I have a broken interior door handle in 2007 SL350 R230 drivers door (UK spec).

See photographs attached.

Do I have to replace the whole of the handle unit as in the first photograph ? Second photograph shows the broken end of the handle.

The clips are about £4 from MB.
Mine broke the next morning after I bought the car.

Do you know if I have to replace the whole black unit in the first picture or can I get a new release handle and fit it in?

I just fitted the new clip, Though I can't remember if it came with the piece that connects with the pull handle?
