Downloaded WIS from internet?

Anyone had any success of buying one of these downloads on line?
I bought one on line took about 20 hours to download (17.2 GB at 250KB) worked with a virtual machine for the first time, unable to print anything but after switching off never worked again.

Thanks I've used that and similar ones and are good for parts and exploded diagrams but I am looking for an actual WIS type download.

If you are running Win 10, then version 1903 can break early versions of VMplayer.
Try compatibility mode and WIN 7 or 8

Downloads work but cannot install WIS without key?

Yes a proper install of WIS does need a key. IIRC you need a key matched to your hardware ID but these can be obtained online.

Yeah, just having issues finding one. Found one that generated EPC but not WIS

Whats the problem? In what way doesn't it work?

I find my one crashes out at startup a lot of the time and I need to restart in safe mode. Works fine though, and for less than a tenner I don't complain.

I got one years ago (no idea where the discs are now). Always worked fine.

17.2GB sounds ok to me. My download was 45GB with the EPC. Worth the wait though. Runs on Windows 10 without the need for virtual box.

I must admit my initial attempt at running through Virtual Box was not successful on my MacBook Pro.

I had a dvd version about 15 years ago when i got my w220.
I wouldnt bother nowadays, software is pretty smart now with connections to servers to ensure the user has a legit licence otherwise it will just switch off.

While it might be true. It's very common for cracked versions to be made available.
