Datacard is the build record for the car. Lists what was on the car when it left the production line and any additions officially added afterwards.

Post your VIN in the VIN Decoder thread and some one will generate the datacard for you. It may be attached to your service book anyway..

There is a yellow folder and inside there are a lot of specifications all in German on white paper, is that it.

if it has lots of numbers on then yes.

How the hell do I find my SA code...? its all in German!

The numbers are the same in either language!!

Look for SA 474

I cant see that it says SA 474 anywhere. There is a bit that says "Partikel: 0,021 g/km but that's it.

I don't think you are looking at the datacard..

Just phoned up Mercedes and the thing I was looking at wad the EU spec thing. Cant find a data card anywhere! Anyway, he has confirmed that it does not have a DPF!

Nonchalantly wipe your finger in the exhaust..
Is your finger clean ish?
yes = DPF fitted
No = DPF not fitted in which case well done .. You are lucky.

Why is having a DPF a bad thing? do they do wrong a lot then?

There's not a lot too go wrong, they work....... or block up and fail. When they do that they cost a fortune to replace.
