I have recently had my tie rods (track rods) and idler refurbed i.e. new bushes etc.

I have the sneaking feeling my indie may be taking the *kiss* how much should this cost for the labor? Plus while the steering is more taut not so much differen than b/4, theres still a dull clicking I experience intermitently from where I would say the idler arm is.

Question: Is there anyway I can tell for sure if the idler was actually done? (forums memebers that are indies take note. This is what we ask behind your back )

BTW how can I use the RU site to check drag link fitment. (You know, give a man a fish...)

Labour:

R&R wheels 0.3

Track rods each: 0.5

Idler: 0.8

Total:1.6x by his labour rate =???

(only if there is nothing seized)

That will not essentially tighten up the steering. The steering box is responsible for that. It may feel a little more positive also.

I suspect the clicking is from somthing rubbing. Ask your indie about it. If he is any good he will look at it for you for nothing.
