Not sure if this has been mentioned.... Mercedes brake pads are now asbestos free, most car manufacturers are ,, which means they are harder.... think you can still get pads which are softer and more efficient .. not sure if they are completely free of asbestos tho'..

It's not about asbestos (there isn't any) but about dust. Clearly his new pads are dustier than the old ones, but blocking the holes is not the problem. They are not the right pads for the car as is shown by the braking performance.

Thankyou everyone for your comments and replies. I think it's clear that the pads are the problem and for one reason or another they are not correct. I'm going to take the advice and get them changed again, it's just really frustrating as you can imagine less than 6 months after handing over more than £500 to Mercedes. I must say, I have not been impressed with my local dealerships and will be using an independent garage this time round! Thanks again all...!

Find a reputable independent MB specialist such as MBs, Star, Avantgarde, Welwyn Merx, Wayne Gates etc.
There's a specialist finder in this site.

4 months into my brand new W212, I was told the discs had warped and needed replacing. Due to your driving style sir.

Yeah, right...

Local brake & clutch place did them for £300 all in, the day before we were due to leave on holiday...

From memory it was 4mth old and 5000 miles in after delivery mileage. Most disappointing.
