Dear all. I hope you are all well and flooding has not affected you. OK I have a question about my Merc E320 CDI. There is a noise coming from the back axle a whining noise. Which is worse when the car is being powered as in going up hill. There is less noise going down hill but still a noise. There is an oil leak coming from where the prop shaft enters into the rear axle gearbox (diff unit). It is not a wheel bearing I am sure of this. So what I am asking is how difficult is it to change the bearings in the rear axle and will changing the bearings and seal and filling with oil solve my noise problem. This merc has covered about 200K.
    Thanks all for your help.
