My driver's side window has stopped opening... the motor works, but makes a noise like it's trying to open the window... a horrible grating noise that would cause the motor to burn out, as the window just won't budge.
My question... how easy is it to remove the door card? I've a 220E 93 estate, with a leather interior... so I don't want to cause any damage to the card!
I hear there are three screws that need to be undone... where are they?!
Any advice gratefully received!

The litle triangular patch near the mirror comes off with a pull(carefull), the inside handle trim hooks out with a screwdriver, and the handle slides forards to allow the disconection of the rod that opens the lock. at the top of the grab handle there is a bolt take this out and next to the lock catch there is a small screw, reve it and the lock escutchion.
Now you can lift the door card up a little and bingo its off.
The glass is next, on the window lift arm there is a nut accessed through a hole at the top of the panel undo the nut and detach the arm from the glass, this may be a little difficult since you need to lower the glass slightly (2") from the closed position. grip the glass between both hands, push down while the swicth is held to open and get it into place. There is a metal chanel with two nuts on the inner door panel, remove it and relaese the other window operating arm. Disconect the motor wires and remove the 3 nuts on the motor / lift assy, the studs are rubber bush mounted and may tear if you get heavy handed with them so grip the studs to prevent rotation as you take the nuts off. Release the assy from its position.
Take the complete motor assy out through hole in the inner panel and take it to either a welder or crafty bloke with metal to get some teeth put onto first bit of the quadrant gear on the lift arm.
Haynes book of lies will help you through the dismantling proceedure.
