I was given a driving experience day as a 2021 Christmas present and finally got round to using it 2 days ago at the Three Sisters Circuit in Wigan and was a glorious sunny day.
It was run by a company called Car Chase Heroes and there were many different cars to choose from on the day...and not only supercars with the original 1960's Batmobile, General Lee, DB5 Bond car, and Bumblebee Camaro to name a few.
This is the first time I have done anything like this and I had already pre booked my cars in advance which was a Ferrari 458 Italia and an Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition.
The circuit is quite challenging with many twists and turns, but still has the opportunity to floor it in places.
Both cars were naturally awesome to drive, but if I had to choose I would say the Aston felt a little bit more special. Speaking of the Aston, and the instructor warned me about this before we set off...when engaging first gear and letting off the brake it is quite unnerving how quickly the car moves forward without touching the gas! I made my way out of the paddock and onto the pit lane with my right foot hovering over the brake pedal.
The day was rounded off with a high speed passenger ride in a tuned BMW 330.
The cars are fitted with video equipment which records both inside and outside and this can be purchased along with trackside photos. The top package was all photos from the cars your drive plus individual videos which can be viewed in a variety of ways including inside/outside/picture in picture, all on an SD card for £50 which I was happy to pay as a memento of my day.
