Hi,

Thinking about taking our ML270 2002 to Germany next week and want to make sure the lights are ok.

I have taken the covers off and moved the lever inside the bulb housing up on the drivers side and down on the passenger side.

I could see two raised parts to the beam and then this went all flat when I adjusted the levers. The lights are H7 not Xenon.

Is this all I need to do to use them abroad?

Thanks

Paul

Yes that is all you need to do as the covers shut off the top part of the beam. Do have a good trip:D:D

That depends on your route and ferry terminals,, when I drove back from Sweden last year I could not find the boat terminal at the Hook of Holland,,I did find it in the end with time to spare. While sitting in the car waiting for the baot I hqd a fiddle with the Comand,,and it puts them under a heading called "landings" It does make life easier with a SAT NAV that is for sure

Now the lights are ready to go make sure you have fluorescent jackets stored inside the car for all occupants, a requirement in France.

The sat nav will cetainly make the journey easier, I thought so when travelling in France this year, so go on treat yourself

We went to Normandy last year and found all sorts of rules that you are supposed to follow - stickers on headlamps, jacket, first aid box, fire extinguisher (I think). It's worth checking out as the French police do like their Brit tourists and can spot fine I believe.

This might sound daft....but take your brain with you and use it at all times!
To help, you can;
*keep your passport and vehicle documents with you at all times
*change the readings on your dashboard to kmph etc
*bserve the speed limits at all times
*ask your front seat passenger to keep reminding you to drive on the right
*put the correct fuel in your tank at filling stations.

I know from years of contintental driving that all of these are invaluable aids.

You will I am sure enjoy continental driving as it can be so much more relaxing and enjoyable than driving in UK.
HAVE A GOOD TRIP AND DON`T FORGET TO REPORT BACK!!

Happy motoring.
Regards
John
