AS WELL AS MY V8 SL I HAVE A LHD V8 69 MUSTANG..IT IS DIFFICULT PULLING OUT OF PETROL STATIONS OR CERTAIN ROUNDABOUTS AND WHEN OVERTAKING BIG TALL VEHICLES..BUT YOU DO GET USED TO IT..MAYBE WORTH WHILE CONVERTING TO RHD IF YOU CAN GET ALL THE PARTS SECONDHAND...I WOULDNT DRIVE IT DAILY..BUT 1000 MILES A YEAR IS OK

UK LHD

My wife had a Smart Car that was a left hooker; after a couple of days one completely forgot you were on the left.

As Angela said at the odd junction you had to crane a bit, but I guess in a RHD you have to do that at the occasional junction too.

The Smart wass pretty narrow, so the impact may have been smaller.

Either way - good luck

I had a LHD merc when i returned from Germany in 92 . biggest problem is seeing to over take vans and lorrys but you do get use to it, I tended to hang back from the vechicle in front to give just that little more vision.
I kept my merc for 2 years in this country before selling it on , and regretted it ever since  so thats why i'm back to a 230E now
Happy motoring

Hi there,

The smart is completely different! Its too small for it to make a difference. But in a normal sized merc, you need time to adjust. If its your only car, then you will be fine. If you also have a rhd to drive aswell then it can play with your senses a bit!
