Hi Guys :)

I have a 2007 E320 W211.222 with the v6, currently sorting a few niggles that have accumulated with the last owner, as I have only had the car for a couple of weeks.

One thing that has me stumped, I purchased a icarsoft mb11 to clear a few codes, but on the engine dtc it is coming up with the following,

2230-000 barometric air pressure (MAP sensor?)
2231-000 o2 sensor signal circuit shorted to heater circuit bank1 sensor1 (o2 sensor fubared?)
2038-000 reductant injection air pressure sensor a circuit range/ performance ?????!!! (???)

First of all the descriptions are the ones I have found with google, then there is the three 0s after the code what does this mean?
Also, I can’t clear the codes to make sure the sensors are at fault, is this normal?
All other faults in the other systems (transmission, etc) have cleared no problem using the code reader

Hope someone out there might have some ideas

Normally DTCs have a P prefix?

What symptoms do you have?

I used icarsoft mb11 diagnose v11.21 to read the codes and yes there was no p code in front of the numbers just 2230-000, 2231-000, 2038-000
This is what I’m finding strange and the fact that the icarsoft won’t clear the codes
And thanks for your response lostkiwi..

When you clear codes do you turn off ignition then turn it back on before rechecking?

Normally an iCarsoft will display a text description.

The text it displays with the code is ‘the code shown is not on the database’ this is for all three codes
And yes go through turning off and recheck after
when I try to clear the engine codes it just keeps telling me to check the connection, and a few other things to check
Just find it odd when I can connect and clear codes on other components,ie transmission.

Hmmmm. Where are you based?

Your interpretation of codes seems ok but I think before I did anything I'd see what star says.

I’m live in the West Midlands, but I’m going to Pembrokeshire next week and I know there’s a Merc stealer at Haverfordwest so will pop in and ask for a star session, unless you know of an indie around that area?
Forgot to answer your original post, there doesn’t appear to be any symptoms apart from crap mpg, highest I’ve seen on a run is 33mpg
Thanks for your help

regards not being able to delete the codes.. make sure you have the latest software update, if you have it you should have a sub menu choice of 3 different types per model , i.e. v50... or v51.. etc try using those individually and see which works best for your model.

Thanks for the offer lostkiwi, very kind of you, but as I said I’m away to Pembrokeshire Saturday for a week
And I should have time to sort it at the stealers...

Alex.. as regards the software update are we talking about the car or the icarsoft mb11?
When I connect to the car after going through the selection on diagnose it says V11.21 is this the latest?
Have looked on there website with regards updates but unfortunately I don’t possess a pc that connects to tinter web, only Mac and iPad and they don’t support iOS! So can’t even open the tutorial video!
Will pop round to father-in-laws as I know he has a pc..

hi, if you have not yet updated then you will be missing a software patch to help with the error you get when trying to delete engine codes, when you have selected your model then there should be 3 different updates you can try in the next section, when mine is back with me i will check which update i have.

Right, I have updated the mb11 to version V11.60, so when going through the menus I can pick either V11.21 or V11.60 only.

unfortunately I still can not delete the engine codes!

So will contact icarsoft and ask them why.

Hi guys:)

Thought I would update this thread.
I have had the car plugged into star at Merc stealers and they said that there were no codes held in the memory but they cleared it anyway, 2 days before I took it in, I plugged the icarsoft reader in and one of the codes had gone ‘2038’ but 2230 and 2231 were still there.
Now after checking myself they have been deleted so no codes!
Also after contacting icarsoft for help, after a week I have not heard a thing from them, so that’s how good their back up service is!!

Thanks for all you reply’s
