Duo valves - where from?

I run a small Volkswagen specialist garage so Mercedes are relatively new to me. I'm running an M plate W124 E300D as my daily and predictably the heater Duo Valves are stuck open. Cleaning them and rebuilding with as many parts from a good used pair as possible got them working for a couple of days but they're stuck again. I have to drive to Le Mans relatively regularly from Sheffield so I could do with knowing they're going to be OK.

Here's the rub - the car has the style of valves that have the auxiliary waterpump mounted on the back and 4 inlet/outlets, 5 if you include the blocked off one(IIRC) . I can't find any that are exactly the same, hence having to get the closest I could and mix / match bits.

JCT600, our local dealer, have quoted an eye watering £301 + VAT  for the complete assembly. GSF car parts and Euro Car Parts both say they can't supply and Damas, our localish specialist breaker, haven't got any. All the local "normal" scrapyards don't even have a 124 in, never mind one with the correct valves :(

Does anybody have any suggestions for anything I might not have thought of?

Hi, these are specific to the multivalve diesel engine which is why they are so hard to find, we have alot of 124's but non of those at the moment, this doesnt really help you i know, but when looking on ebay or such just make sure its from that engine on the E250D (not the older 250d)

That explains why they're such a bugger to find :) I've kindof resigned myself to paying more for the valves than I did for the car :p

I didn't know that. But the diesels give off so little heat that I'm not surprised the setup is different

The Multivalve diesels also have a water / oil heat exchanger in the sump

 You should ride in my car, it's got the hottest heater in the world! The water / oil heat exchanger made doing the water pump 10% more interesting when i discovered I hadn't ordered enough O-rings :D
