How do i find the dust filter on my SLK? I cannot understand the mercedes drawings

Under the passenger footwell. Remove the under cover.

Lie in the passenger footwell and look up, just behind the glovebox you will see 2 cross head screws, remove these and the panel will swing down and away, now you will see the blower cover and just behind it the dust filter cover, these are held with slidey clips, while you are there, remove the heater blower cover, I did, and mine was full of leaves and rubbish, my blower was a bit noisy, its like new now, and it only took about 15 mins, once you do it, you will see how easy it is, if that makes sense.

Doing the oil/filter tomorrow and the other checks
