Could I get the DVD to work when the car is driving rather than going off, really annoying when crawling in traffic. If so how can I do it , many thanks

Can't speak for Mercs but certainly on BMWs there are techie guys out there who can modify the car so it can show DVDs when moving. I understand it's quite a simple mod.

But no, you can't do it yourself..

Only problem is, if you are involved in a collision, you could invalidate your insurance and face charges from the boys in blue if they find the interface has been disabled.

Presumably you can declare it to your insurance company. All you have to say, if asked, is it's for passengers.

I personally would not have it done, but I have been asked by passengers about it.

The law quite clearly states that television or DVD must not be viewable from the drivers seat.

But you are allowed to drive with your eyes glued to the sat nav screen! Lol!

....... and too many do!

One of those laws which is unenforceable and unenforced. Many cars have a speed tolerance, e.g. 5 or 10mph for switch off. I am guessing that can be increased.
