My rear suspension drops overnight and i suspect one or both of the air bags has a leak, is there any recommended supplier of replacement air bags, ones on Ebay are around £190 for a pair and Aerosus are £318 for a pair, looking at the photos they both look exactly the same.

Does anyone have experience of buying these air bags.

I've had both rear air bags/springs replaced on my car with Arnott air bags/springs.

Not sure who makes the EBay generic parts but Arnott or Aerosus should do the job. My preference is to fit genuine MB mainly due to the fact that I keep a car a long long time

Hi,
I replaced the air bags on my 2011 E220 Estate about 15 months ago. I bought Aerosus units -- they came with a 2 year warranty. They were delivered very quickly and for a reasonable cost. The car has been fine since fitting them. I wrote it up on this site.

Maybe they could be cheaper on ebay but with a quick look now, the delivery cost would put them over £220 and, coming from Hong Kong, delivery would be slow and good luck with any warranty issues. That said, the car will be fine as it is for a while so no great urgency.
From the photos on ebay, they look the same as the Aerosus ones I bought -- is that what you would actually receive though?
In the end of the day, you will have to decide on which ones to go for.

Thanks guys for your replies, I think I'll go the Aerosus route as I mentioned before they are dearer than the Ebay route but for peace of mind a better option. Not 100% certain it's the bags yet but when the weather warms up and stops raining I'll be out with the soapy water looking for leaks. (when the weather does get warmer I bet it stops leaking so I never find the leaks !)

I'll be fitting them myself, how hard can it be !! might even take some photos and a post a little report..

If it helps, Aerosus were excellent regarding me returning a leaky shocker. They emailed me a label & tracking info, I dropped it off at the post office and a few days later a new unit arrived.

Looks like I shall be purchasing some Aerosus air springs, the passenger side drops over night on my 106k S212. I had this issue with my BMW F11 after 75k, and on the same side I assume that all those potholes are contributing. Has anybody experience of replacing them or how many hours work at an indie?

I fitted them myself and it is doable on your driveway. I wrote it up on this site. I would guess that it would take a couple of hours per side by a professional. It took me longer but was much more satisfying. I did it in January which I wouldn't recommend --- I recall that the camera on my phone stopped working with a message saying that it was too cold !!?

Had it at the local respected MB specialist for a service and unfortunately car also needs some work I hadn't planned for, new engine mounts and some replacement brake pipes (currently corroded), they quote 6.5 hours labour for the springs and brake pipes with 2.5 for the engine mounts, :(

That's a bit of a shock but the hours quoted is fair enough when you include the brake pipe replacement.
