Hi all,

I need some advice.

A couple of weeks ago I cracked the passenger headlight lens on my e class. I put some clear film over it a temporary measure until I could get the lens fixed. Unfortunately, after the heavy down pour last week, water/moisture got into the headlight and now the beams are not working. The LED strips works fine. tI get are Adaptive Light System inoperative and Dip Beam Fault.

I have accepted the fact the headlight unit needs replacing, but I understand there are two control modules that are attached to the light as well. Do I need to replace both of them? and if so, where can I locate the part numbers?

To make matters worse, the good RHS headlight has completely stopped working as well and I have fault warnings for both Blind Spot Warning and Speed Sign recognition. Is it likely the initial fault with the water damaged light has caused further issues with the cars electronics? may be a fuse has blown?

I'm not an expert, so it's probably a good idea to first get your car on Star (mercedes diagnostics) to see what exactly is dead/failed before buying anything....

that said...I wouldn't worry about the RHS one until you've fixed the broken one, i'm not sure if Mercedes sell 'lens' at all, you'd probably have to get the entire light assembly replaced and that's not cheap,
you can however buy them second hand (look on ebay) but they'll probably need to be coded to your car,

let us know how you get on from a fellow (2018 model) C238 owner
