Hi was thinking of parting with my 211 E55.
I have looked around for current valuations but unsure at what to value it at.
It’s 27,650 miles 2004. Full service hist with unmarked black paint. Only blemish is a small area of blistering on one alloy about the size of a thumb nail and a small scuff on drivers seat bolster.
I was thinking of around £18,000 anyone any ideas.

Hi,

Perhaps if you mentioned the options it has.
Is it an S or W211, number of owners, all might help in giving better advice on the price to ask.

Wagons and those with the 200 mph speedo seem to get a better price for starters

Autotrader has 6 for sale, lowest price is £9995, higher mileage though.
Most expensive claims very high spec and 90,000 miles, but only £13,750.
At £18,000, you're either looking at top end retail price with a good warranty thrown in, or pricing yourself out of the market.

IIRC the 200mph Speedo ones also had the facelift, and the issue the issue with the faulty radiator was sorted. This is probably the biggest off put on early cars.

Please post pictures and details in the classifieds section.

A good E55 may be able to sway me from a Cls55 hunt. Price is key but buyers of these are not stupid as it’s a specialist car, and buyers will have done their home work deeply!

I see seemingly decent examples comfortably selling at 7-9k across the E/CLS55 range from with perhaps 12/13k being a peak.

Due to low mileage etc I’d probably say 14,995 ish and expect SERIOUS offers in the region of 12/13k.

have to agree , 18k is a lot too much for the car if you want to find a buyer , some rarer MB on the market for that sort of figure and some are a good bit less too , it IS a buyers market

Ok thanks for the information everyone much appreciated. Due to the restrictions I’ve not used it much in the last 12 months. Selling came to mined as I had seen another on a sales site with an asking price of circa 20k. which has sold.
Mine has the 200mph speedo on it, full option pack and I’m the second owner.
Think I’ll hang on to it for a while and wait for restrictions to lift. Anyway summers just around the the corner so no salt on the roads.

27k is really low mileage for that year. I would not say it is overpriced. There aren't many out there with that sort of mileage. incredible engine, awesome car.

The problem with the pricing is that its well into W212 E63 Biturbo territory. And that is a better car IMO, as I have owned both.
It may have very low miles (garage queen?) but its now a 17 year old car.
It has a limited market at that price and your decision to hold on to it and use it is correct IMO.
Despite the really low mileage, I fancy £16k ish would be tops for a private sale with no warranty.

Yes that makes sense. Thank you for your good advice.
Probably enjoy it this summer and see how I feel in the Autumn.
Although I do think the 211 is the better car of the two you mention.
