E class cupholder

[Mercedes 190E]

Hi All
My Wife's 2004 E class doesnt have a cupholder in the front of the car. I see that there is one available from the owners manual that fits inside the small storage compartment behind the gearlever. Does anyone know if this is available as an aftermarket accessory or is it factory fit only ?

You can buy one from your dealer

I got mine off ebay but to be honest I didn't save much. Its around £50 ish from the dealer. You take out the insert and it just slides in.

As Jberks comments, they are often on Ebay at around £35-£45, and not to down the fitment of the cupholder for you, as I am sure many have them fitted, but just to alert you, I'm sure I read on a previous post sometime back, that the potential to spill liquid into the gear change area is highly likely at some point, and I seem to recall this could cause a lot of electronics grief, I am sure Malcolm or one of the other knowledgable techies may advise to this, or whether I am incorrect, may be wise to just confirm this.

ive done this on the motorway! i spilled half a cup a hot coffee into the top of the gearshift and it totally destroyed all the tip tronic stuff on one of my earlier cars so becarefull . On my car the cup holder pops out of a compartment and hovers near the gearshift.
