E class for sale

One of my mates has seen the following car on the Auto trader website.It is an E class on a Y plate with factory sat-nav up for £11450.Is this an era of Mercs we should stay clear of or could it be a little gem.

p.s Can,t suss out how to get a picture up.

Other than being a good few grand over priced it looks ok.

The 320 cdi look nicer to me at less money, al be it more mileage.

Can see many 3.2l v6 petrols being sold this time of year.

To give a comparison, A freind recently bought a 2001 E430 saloon, 1 owner, dealer history, 31000miles, top spec, navi, leather, memory, heated & cooled seats (both sides), roof, zenons, all original immaculate paint, no rust - anywhere, 4 new tyres, new MOT, TAX & serviced. Drives 100% a perfect example of how these cars should be. He paid £10750 with warranty.

A well speced car will also fetch a premium but not that much. if it was an estate it would get nearer that price. The CDi is a much better bet, refinement, power and economy to match.
