E-Class LCD Failure

Guys, I own a 2001 E class and have been driven to distraction that the temp/time displays didnt work properly..........Mercedes quoted me the thick end of £650 to replace the display and when I asked what sort of guarantee they offered on a new display was told none....Ok says I, so it will break down again in a year or so, are you telling me I will need to spend another £650.....Yep they said

Anyway after searching this site I would like to thankyou all for detailing Farouk, the "fixer"....at Speedo fixer........45 minute job, in my office car park with a 6 month guarantee and only £170.......compared to the £650 with no guarantee from Mercedes.....

Farouk says he is happy to see you at your home or at your place of work but as he is based in the south its reserved for us Southern folk, anyone else has to post the unit in....
