Has anyone got mercedes roof bars for their e-class (current model)? Reason I ask is that I'll be getting some bars for my new one in May, but would ideally like to not shell out on the bike racks, as I've already got somerather posh Audi ones - but of course the fitting has to be the same.
On the Audi (and Thule and Renault) the racks are fitted by sliding a square nut (I guess 15-20mm each side) into a channel in the bars and then screwing the racks down onto that. If the Merc system's the same I'm laughing - if not, it's presumably another £300 for a couple of racks.
So - anyone got roof bars? And do they have channels in?
