Hi all, Happy Christmas!

Got a problem with a 56 plate E Class saloon I bought a few weeks ago. It's a 320 CDI Sport (W211). Was driving great but noticed that when tried to accelerate it wasn't really responding as expected. Tried to floor it today on slip to motorway and there was a really hard jolt then it didn't accelerate! Slightly worrying! If I don't try to accelerate quick it's fine, very nice actually, but just doesn't respond to a sharp pedal input, and this hard jolt is concerning. It's booked in for the 4th, but thought I would ask here as you guys always have some good suggestions!

It's been serviced at MB full history only 58k miles.

Quite a few things on a diesel, could be the MAF failing,, if the engine power is down then the gearbox can get confused making a jolt on an unsure change

642 engines dont suffer with MAF failures generally. My guess would be exhaust manifolds breaking up jamming the turbo. When this happens they jolt and judder.

Get it on STAR would be the first thing to do.

Possible split intercooler pipe?

Split pipe wouldnt cause it to jolt and op would certainly hear it blowing. Likely the EML would light up with a charge pressure fault too.

Yep I had the split boost pipe before in the old car and it wasn't that. If I manually change gears it seems fine. It'll go on star next week so hopefully some codes to work on.

Back to the mince pies.
