Can anyone help?
I have a 2000 E220 Cdi and have problems with wheel bolts shearing off.
MB acknowledge that there is a problem with the original fit bolts as they supply a completely different stud as replacement.
For aesthetics sake, the original stud head is flush with the face of the wheel, however even when tightened to 70ft lbs as recommended, the studs seize and shear off behind the stud 'head'.The replacements are much shorter and have no visible 'weak spots'.
From a safety point of view this is outrageous.
Can anyone help me to get the broken studs removed by MB? Just to add to the misery, the MB locking wheel nut has sheared off rendering that useless!!
Help please!!

It is fairly straight forward to drill the broken studs out, and common with a few cars across the range. Yes these are now discontinued.

I do not think that you will get MB to do it
