I have a 98 e class estate with a rain sensor for the intermitent wiper. Recently it seems to be stuck on, so whenever you turn on the intermitent it stays on regardless of whether it is raining.

Does anyone know if there is a simple fix ??

Cheers

Hello Richard and welcome.

This is all built into the overhead control panel with the mirror housing. Only when the car is plugged into STAR will you know what has gone wrong.

In the screen you have the blue spot. It works by an LED that is mounted at 45º and pointing at the reflective blue spot, there is an receiving LED that picks up the beam from the first LED, when it rains,it puts the beam out of focus, the current in the circuit drops, and this turns on the wiper.
