Hi all, my e220 coupes o/s rear window decided not to drop today for the first time ever. tried both switches with the child lock in both possitions but still no joy. can anyone tell me if there is a seperate fuse i can check before i draw the natural conclusion that it's a motor problem. to say I am devistated is an understatement, I thought my car was bullet proof!

in the s class coupe there is no separate fuse.
does it still drop that 1/2" when the fronts are lowered?
if so - then it might be just the switch. if not - then it might well be the motor itself or the cable to it.
unless the e class is different and has a sep fuse for BOTH back windows..?

On mine the motor was burnt out due to a sticky switch leaving the power on with the window closed.
If the motor is gone it's not the end of the world but you do need a day and £95 to renew it. the motor is different to the saloons so there are no cheaper alternatives.

It is actually relatively easy to change the motor. About an hours work plust the £90 odd for the motor.
Coincidentally, when my motor went, my local MB dealer said it would take two days to get the part, assuning it was in the country. Eurocarparts however, told me they could only get the genuine MB part for the coupe... but could get it withintwo hours, slightly cheaper too.
Sure enough, the part came in wrapped in the MB packaging with the hologram etc etc. It certainly got me wondering how they could get the part but Mercedes couldnt.
