- E220 estate 2017 model
Hello Everyone, Yesterday the rear suspension suddenly failed on my 3 year old car. There had been a dull noise now and then, but no indicators or problems driving. Just out of warranty in September. Dragged it literally at 10mile an hour to local Mercedes Benz dealership this morning ...full diagnostics...the air compressor had burnt out and the fuse blown. My car's rear was nearly on the ground...very uncomfortable drive to the dealers. I noted from other posts on this forum that others have had the same issue with this model...so told the dealer who searched out the posts to confirm.....Mercedes Benz agreed to pay 75% of all costs, which was brilliant!! You are looking at a bill of £924.84 to replace the compressor and fuse and relay, providing nothing else is damaged... I only had to pay £224.33 The parts and labour are now guaranteed for 2 years as well.
Clearly there is an issue with this model of 2017 estate and others of you out there need to watch out for this. Any odd noise, especially when there is extra load in the car....or you notice a lowering of the car...get it checked out especially if you are still in warranty.
