Depending upon what's snapped and where, you might be able to make a good repair with a heli-coil.

As long as great care is taken to make sure the heli-coil is on the correct axis (even angle errors below about 2 degrees matter), heli-coils make very strong threads, and it isn't a bodge.

In aerospace design, it is standard practice to use a wire thread insert with aluminium from new, and from that perspective, it's quite easy to make a case that the heli-coiled repair can be better than the original thread.

When drilling the thread out take care to go no deeper than the existing thread - there's a waterway beneath there.

If you ring around, you'll usually be able to find a jobbing engineering shop who can undertake the work for you.

Not ahead off job as long as it has just stripped the thread but a lot of these have had the clamp drilled out and the head tapped m8 but you lose the stretch required in the bolt then it either snaps the bolt or strips the threads and blows the injector out the easy way to check is the genuine screw is a torx,As mentioned do not go deeper than 60 m/m or you will be in the water have a look on web site as there is a cross section of a CDI head on it
