E240 Loss Of Power

Starts up - ok. When excelorator is pressed down - starts spluttering - after a short while runs ok but sounds as if it is missing. When kicked down is needed engine holds back. Have changed the 12 plugs, HT Leads, coils and fuel filter!!!!!!!!
Any other suggestions before I bury it!!!!!!!!!!
IT IS A 1998 WITH 80K ON THE CLOCK.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

I had the same problem with loss of power, it spluttered, stalled, and wouldn't rev over 3000, she would go up a hill at 20mph and it was just embarrasing

I took mine to the garage, the problem I had was the loom has burned out and buggered the ECU. At first I thought it was the MAS .

I didn't know until I took mine to the garage, which was an eventful experience to say the least, but the car had the loom repaired and a second hand ECU fitted, and runs lovely now.
