E240 V6 Knock Sensors

I have a year 2000 E240 2.6 Estate. Has anyone had experience of replacing the Knock Sensors in this model? Mercs of Tunbridge Wells told me that they are located inside the Air Intake Casing, does the Fuel Rail and Injectors have to come out to get this casing off?? Any help would be greatly apreciated

Very rarely fail if at all, located under the inlet manifold.

I had a fault code P2006 show up which read right charge air temperature sensor fault. Is this one and the same component do you know?
