Hi

Looks like my old posts got deleted, so just adding a new post to give an update on my power steering leak fix. I ended up going to my local trusted garage and having it fixed while it was in for the service and MOT. It needed a new pipe, pump and pully. Total cost £457. Hope that helps someone on the board.

Cheers

Good to know for if/when mine decides to part ways. As a 2002 C270 I suspect it may be similar or same configuration.

You can save quite a lot by buying the parts yourself. e.g. https://www.online-teile.com/de/
I have no affiliation. Just bought a few bits there. They have online prices which seem relatively cheap.
My garage owner said he could have done the work a lot cheaper but got hit with ridiculous costs on parts from MB.
I've been going there for long enough to believe the garage owner is telling the truth. Next service I'll buy the parts.

Can you share the model or make of the pump? Did you buy it with pulley? can you share the cost of pump.
Thanks

Hi

I didn't get those details. The garage bought direct from MB. They don't fit OEM unless supplied by the customer. Not sure why.
Parts prices were steep. Pump 162, Pipes 180, Pully 17, Fluid 11. Owner hates the MB parts dept :)
The link I gave above has a VIN search facility to find the parts for your car.

Cheers
