Hi,
My 1995 E280 S124 started juddering from the engine ( I think) at the end of a short journey last week.
I have just tried to drive it again. I topped up the oil as it was on the low side (but still above minimum) and drove for 3-5 mins at it seemed completely normal but then the juddering started again so I stopped my journey.

Any suggestions? Not very mechanically minded

Could be many things - plug lead, plug, MAF... Get it diagnosed to find out.

Engine mounts possibly? You can check them by physically grabbing on to a part of the engine (ie inlet manifold) and seeing if the engine moves around a bit too freely.
Also propshaft front & rear donuts wear out as does the center bearing & mount.

As above, it needs professional diagnosis. Too many variable to make a correct guess.

Thank you for your responses. I will take it to the garage.

Is it unwise to drive it there (I don’t want to cause extra damage) but I also would like to avoid paying for a recovery if possible.

It’s about 3 miles away.

Thanks!

Hi!

Unfortunately the loom has disintegrated (although I had been told when I bought the car 2 years ago that this had been repairs so I wouldn't have to worry about it). This is what was causing the misfire.

Can anyone suggest where is a good place to have the wiring loom replaced in London (at as reasonable of a cost as possible).

The car is in Peckham but I will have to get it recovered to wherever it goes - thank you!
