E280 Estate - What to do about rust around rear wing arial.

Hi Folks,
Anyone have advice on what will stop rust around power arial rubber that has worked its way half an inch or so around the edge of hole, and seems to be spreading.
How can I stop it deteriorating further, before getting the paint touch up to it.
Very limited access to rear of wing as bodywork struts are in the way behind fold down interior panel (where 1st aid kit & triangle are stored).
Have stripped out old power motor to get better access & fitted a roof arial over courtesy lamp in cieling at front of car to replace permanantly.
Have so far coated rust in KURUST & rust damage has turned black as it should, - but is this stuff any good?
and should I have used a more worthwhile rust preventer?

Only proper way Keith is to have the area derusted, prepared and refinished professionally. Then a liberal coating of 'Waxoyl' under the panel and on the refinished surface undeneath the grommet before refitting the aerial assembly.

As always, the only job is the proper one, and by the sounds of it, my little rust hole pales into insignificance on my 10 year old car, compared to the problems later E models are having with rust popping up all over thier 2-3 year old cars - such a shame.

Hi,
I'm looking to rub down and paint the small area around the elec aerial on my polar white E280T as its started to rust and bubble.
Have bought the Halfords spray can - just wonder whether it will match?
I have the same job to do along the bottom of the tailgate which means removing the plastic hanlde strip which looks a pain - just waiting for some dry days to do it!!
