E300 Diesel

Hi,
I have a diesel e300 1993 when i turn the key the pre glow coil light does not light up but when i switch the engine on fully the light comes on and then flashes on and off whilst driving.
Anyone experienced similar problems?
Just found out how much they charge at Mercedes service centre so want to avoid a visit if possible.

I had a bad glow plug relay whiched caused the light to come on incorrectly and all sorts of additional faults.....new relay is easy to fit but costs about £117.00 for a 1990 e300td...I got a second hand one for £35.00 which, considering, is quite expensive as it might only have had a few miles life left.
Quite hard to find Secondhand too most you will be offered are for 4/5 cylinders....check the pins underneath......should match exactly.

get your glow plugs checked first usually a sign that you have 1 or more bad plugs
