Hi, I am interested to buy a 2015 E300 hybrid. I need to hear from those who are using this model. Is it good or bad and what are the main problem with this model. Tq

I like mine but you have that constant concern that if the battery dies replacing it can cost more than the car is worth.
I make sure it never stands idle for long but even that isn't a magic cute all.

Also if you want to tow anything this is not rated for it. I would say it has plenty of power to tow things but I suspect it can't make it's magic numbers then. Conversely you learn to drive the electric system so it doesn't kick the diesel in until you decide. Coming to it from a Range Rover something that is still doing super MPG even in stop start traffic is magical.

I had one new in 2014 and loved it, during my nearly 2 years of ownership it was very reliable, although the electric power is pretty small they are fairly quick.

Having said that one of the other forum members had one and he had a few issues.

I would want a genuine Mercedes warranty if buying one as they can be expensive to repair.

My advice - only run one if you are prepared to keep up the MB warranty - potential bills can be eye watering - the E220d OM654 engine is a peach 45-50mpg all day long - if you want a Hybrid buy Toyota at least they are prepared to warranty their products for 10 years

Better than I thought then John, mind you my daughter and her husband were looking at a Toyota Auris Hybrid and ended up with a B*W 1 Series 1.8 petrol which they really like - says it all for me

You are right Malc. It is a perception thing based upon age and street cred.
You and I may not be around when in similar circumstances in the future they choose the best combination of safety, comfort and reliability.
Let them and their contemporaries choose what is important to them, as we did a good number of years ago.
I do wish however I had bought that Karmann Ghia !

Welcome
and as said above, they are lovely smooth cars to drive. The two members who have posted had/are having good experiences.
There have been a few members on here appeared after having bought one though who had less than good experiences including complete failures and never been heard from again.
Things to bear in mind:-
Electric only range is tiny, it will get you off the drive and to the end of the street probably silently..
That said, the regenerative aspects and 'sailing' mode mean cleverly and carefully used you can achieve stunning economy.
2015 will be well out of warranty and I'm not sure frankly what you can do on this, doubt aftermarket providers will warrant a hybrid battery.. I do seem to remember a member who got their batteries refurbished or reconditioned, IIRC c £4k?
The electric motor is attached to the gearbox, so a failure with one means a failure with the other.
I had bad experience with one from new in 2013. I had it for 18 months then had failure (14k miles I think). it was on a 2 year lease so I never saw the car again. Being curious I have looked it up and initially for about 2 years it had disappeared, but I now see it and it's done north of 65k miles so having a second life!
Would I buy one? No- reliability and more refined hybrids being available now would put me off this model.
However you might get a good one and can live with the small range....
And yes I have a BMW Hybrid with a smallish range (18 miles real life), they offer 8 years battery warranty, not as good as Toyota et al but I can live with it
