Dear All, I committed the ultimate crime of putting the wrong fuel in my car. I am now faced with the incumbence of having to drain the tank. Can anybody tell me if the tank has a drain plug? or if not how is the best way to do it? thanks and regards - george

easiest way to drain the tank would be to remove the pipe that attaches to the tank strainer. i have a thread on here with pics as i changed the strainer on my car. theres no drain plug on the tank. the pipe you need to remove is under the car obviously and is roughly straight above the rear diff unit. you can just unclip the end of the rubber pipe, pull it off the metal fuel line that goes to the front of the car, and drain into a container, or for quicker draining, take the rubber pipe off as described, then unscrew the other end from the tank strainer.

not sure if theres an anti syphon device in the tank neck or not. and it would need to be quite supple hose as the filler neck runs almost level across to the tank. also it would be difficult to get enough fuel out, given the shape/location of the tank that way

The tank is just behind the rear seat, and the bit of carpet at the back of the boot. That should allow you to see where things are, but I believe the drain (including serviceable tank strainer) is accessed from underneath the car.
