E300 TD W210

Is it normal for the E300 TD to make a whining nose when doing a full lock on the steering wheel . Mine has always done this. Could this be a problem with the power steering, power steering fluid low etc.

Do other E300 TD owner experience this.

if you hold the wheel hard against full lock the noise you hear is the relief valve. this is normal. try to avoid holding against full lock it puts stress on the rack & pas pipes ect not to mention the unnessesary loading on the steering pump.
