E300D Front speakers

Hi. I have a 1986 E300D 3.0 6cylinder.
I would like to change the front speakers from my merc. how big are they,
and how deep is the installation hole. I wouldn't ask for this here, but im now
in a life situation a cannot maintain the car, so i loaned the car for my friend for few months. i would like to order the new front speakers in advance so i could
install them right away when i get it back

The standard speaker is a non-standard size (12 cm) and the mounting system uses a hook & spring on the speaker

Mercedes dealers carry a Blaupunkt direct replacement at about £30 / pair. Rainbow make a drop-in replacement for about £90 / pair and they're available from a UK supplier
