E300TDI Gearbox reverse

I park face down and now find that occasionally reverse seems to 'spin' from cold - like clutch slip. Oddly this is random. One day I am contemplating a rebuild, the next - no problem! Any advice? Will I need my cheque book? (S reg E300TDI 105k) nb great car

How steep is the hill . ??


and do you have it in S or W . They do have diferent ratios in the gearbox , even for reverse ...

If my car is in W it takes a lot of throttle to go back up a hill i park on , S is fine tho.

Its worth a look , id recomend S for every day use.

Thanks - I have just changed to W from S - coincidence or what! I'll try going back to S.
