Hi,
I am in the process of wiring a Westfalia (OEM supplier) wiring loom for the tow bar electrics (12N). The instructions are not clear as they are for LHD. The following problems have arisen:
1)The instructions call for a connection to the pneumatic 18 pin plug using pin 15 if free or soldering to the wire if occupied. Trouble is there are two 18 pin plugs on the unit with pin 15 free and one occupied. Which do I use?
2)The instructions call for the indicator wiring black/green and the black/white to be connected to the equivalent wiring in the drivers cill loom. Trouble is there are 4 black/greens and 2 black/white and which ever I use the LH trailer board indicator remains on.
I don't have brake lights working at all but the side lights work perfectly.
The wiring kit supplier says that the kit is faulty and is subject to recall and wants me to remove it (2hrs works and fragile trim clips) and he will fit his kit. I am sceptical, The majority of car electrical faults I have experienced in the last 35years have been due to aftermarket installations - I reasoned OEM was best and most reliable and this kit has been available from 1997 on.
Can anyone help or provide a contact to Westfalia Tech Dept. Or alternatively, suggest a good Mercedes auto wiring electrician in the Midlands to sort out the connections.
Thanks in anticipation.
