E320 Cdi 2003 Juddering problems

Can anyone help me?

My car seems to judder at certain revs (+ the gear lever wobbles).

We have changed all the filters, ensured the wheels are balanced, changed the propshaft couplings and had the propshaft balanced and the problem still persists. Has anyone else expereinced this?

The most likely culprit is the lock-up mechanism in the torque converter. I had a similar problem and this was solved by replacing the torque converter and I believe this is a common problem with this car.

Your MB dealer as a test for the lock up mechanism where they can disable it from a laptop while the car in on the move. If the juddering stops then at least you'll have confirmed the problem.

I am totally non technical, what is a Valeo and if there is an issue is this serious?

Yes this looks like another Valeo problem where where the oil cooler for the box has mixed with the coolant. Ask them to do the Glycol test on the transmission fluid.

If you have the white spot on the cooler then the mod has been done
