e320 cdi gearbox

Just a quickie! my 2001 e320 cdi has gone into emergency gearbox mode twice within a week.If i switch off the ignition, and restart her all gears are available, kickdown is fine etc.There is no power loss coming from the engine either, and no nasty noises from the box. I am guessing ecu perhaps?Car is booked in at an indy on tuesday-so i do not yet know the fault codes, just trying to guess the cost!!Thanks in advance for any help!

first thought check battery voltage, puts a fault of power supply to vavle block faulty, had many 210s do that when i was on the rd, after start you have put more power back into battery!!! might save you a bill!!
